I actually organized a reading last Tuesday of my latest work: The Musical and I. I’m so proud of myself for actually doing this. It went so well. I got such great feedback from the creative people who came to the event.
Musical and I is a new musical about Mimi Maya Hamilton, a twenty-something girl who dreams of being in a musical but she suffers from anxiety which is her main obstacle in achieving this goal.
The story and character is definitely inspired by my life but its not by any means directly taken from my experiences. Most are exaggerations. I’m prone to hyperbole.
The next thing I’m hoping to do is a staged reading – most likely in the fall.
